Another SLAM week!! This time in Mombasa, Kenya. After our fun adventure in Nairobi we immediately took off to a coastal town called Mombasa where we were going to run our SLAM week. Our team of over 100 people arrived to the college campus at around 7am, took a quick nap, then immediately got to work.
140+ kids were registered for this camp, so we had a lot to set up and get ready. Since we were hosting SLAM at a new location we had no idea where anything was, what we could use, or who to ask permissions from. It was hard but we worked fast and hard to create a hospitable environment for these amazing kids.
Justice and I got the opportunity to share a room with 4 SLAM kids, 3 of whom were NFC Kenya players during our week, and it was an awesome experience. These guys were so cool, and it was amazing to witness the growth God did in them while at SLAM. Justice and I bonded with them over soccer, but also were able to bond through a relationship with God. They are amazing people and I am continuing to pray for them as we depart, I saw God in them and I saw him grab a hold of their precious lives.
