St.Johns

Hi Friends and Family!
A few days ago I went to St.Johns a local school in Kabonge which is where the G.O.D campus is located in. This was a special trip for a few reasons. At first I was disappointed because I was going to be making meals instead of spending time with the students there teaching.

The truth is I love teaching kids so I wanted to do that. However during that time of prepping the food, I had great conversations and even got to know one of my new friends Remah better. I also saw so many little kindergarteners and taught them all a handshake and silly little games during waiting periods.

After feeding those students we had so much left over that so many kids got seconds and everyone had more than enough. That moment reminded me of Matthew 14. God really supplied those kids with enough food, though our obedience to serve them they were treated with dignity.

In that way we helped bring God’s kingdom to earth which is our responsibility as those who follow him. So even though I would have loved to teach those kids I was needed, and serving those kids really helped me see them and their lives a little better. I saw the struggle of them trying to be patient as they were waiting to be served but also really hoping they would be the one getting the next plate. I am so grateful there was more than enough.

I am also grateful for that experience so that I could see those kids better, seeing the struggle that they go through was really hard, but helped me understand a little bit better of what they go through in their lives. It was only a glimpse into their lives and it affected me. Which I am thankful for, because I wouldn’t be able to really see them if I didn’t have a soft heart in that moment. It was a blessing to serve them in that way and I pray that I will be able to do it again in the near future.
