This weekend in Morristown I was impacted by the power of testimony. After spending time with the leadership of Community Church for GOD Morristown, I was brought to tears by their testimonies of how God has worked in their lives. I heard stories of how much God has been working in each of their lives and families. There is so much to be excited about with all God is doing in Morristown. Though there is darkness in their community, the Church Community for God Morristown church is working hard to bring light and minister to those in need.
We had also just spent time with the children of the Morristown leadership at SLAM, getting to invest into them and see how much they have grown since their last SLAM Service Week. We got a chance to sit down with their parents and encourage them about all of the wonderful things we’ve seen in their kids since we met them a few years ago. God is doing something in this upcoming generation and it is beautiful to witness.
God is doing so much with Morristown and it is evident every time we go to visit them and spend time worshiping and praying with them. Naturally, all the things God is doing with Morristown require a lot of work. I was so thankful to be able to build up the Morristown leadership while we were there, as it can be challenging to lead when so much growth is taking place. 1 Timothy 5:17 talks about those who lead the church deserving “double honor.” It was such a blessing and a privilege to serve the leaders of the Morristown church and spend a weekend with them being refreshed by God’s word and times of worship, prayer, and testimony.
I’m particularly thankful to Pastor Efrain and Pastora Zenaida, who showed us great hospitality and always work tirelessly to care for their church & community. The dreams they have dreamed with God about how to serve Morristown are so inspiring, as is their complete faith that God will help them accomplish those dreams as they are obedient to him. Their stories are powerful, and they were so generous to share with us and encourage us from the Word of God. I was blessed to spend time with them, thank them for all they do, and hear their encouragements for us young people to cling to our faith and obey God diligently.
