It all started by excitement of going to Kenya. it was my first experience so I was nervous and happy too because God had given joy that I don’t know where it came from. More love to people and also Pastor Greg song being in my mind that helped me so much to share that oneness and love to people. And trust me on this you can’t give what you don’t have. You only give what you have. Me, I had a joy and happiness. I love to see the slam kids during this ministry to Kenya. This taught me a lot even before reaching some of the lessons are:
1. God can show a vision but he doesn’t show the process
2. Through the journey it was clear to me that we were here to serve not be tourist in a special way.
I took it personal I heard no one complaining about certain things we where okay on the little that we had.
So during the summer internship of Kenya I have learnt to be a servant and also to be the salt of the earth, to carry the favours of God into the earth.
For example, we went at the certain park in Kenya we found some trash in park so Pastor Gregg told us to pick them up. We did so and at the side there were students and when their teacher saw what we did and he was like let us also try to clean the park. So this taught me to act as an example in whatever place I go in because am a child of God i should do so.
And I also learnt to be obedient to the Holy Spirit on what he says. If Pastor Gregg never responded on the voice or conviction we wouldn’t act as an example.
My prayer is to be obedient in any way I can and also be a vessel to be used by God to do great things
As an intern i really admire how Pastor Greg handles people, that’s another prayer for me.
And also what I have learnt is be it that am chosen generation but I should be born from above John 3:3. When I heard this in the slam conference Kenya this really touched me and felt like if these kids don’t understand the this it would be so bad to me.
I learnt to be a person born from above not just to be a born again because being born from above is taking extra steps in knowing God’s word and living it with the help of the Holy Spirit and being a born again is living in a manipulative world and allow to read it with God’s sight.
For you the word of God and also go to church just on a Sunday am I bringing out my point so this taught me to yearn more to be born from above through learning God word on individual basis not for other people.
And I learnt team work because they when engaging in service projects and attentive when Pastor Gregg was teaching, it was so encouraging to me to see that they are not forced to know the word of God. I admired that. And I also thank Pastor Gregg for giving and investing in the slam kids this moves many people including myself thank you so much.
