A Day in the Life

Each day of internship is intentionally planned out by our leaders to ensure we get an experience of a lifetime. With that, each day is different aside from running SLAM camps in Nashville, El Salvador, and East Africa. SLAM stands for Students Living a Mission and it mobilizes students ages 12-25 to live a mission in imitation of Jesus Christ by serving the poor and underprivileged through community service. We have had the privilege this summer to facilitate SLAM camps for masses of young people in the places I mentioned earlier.

Some of the activities that fill my day include times of prayer throughout the day, meetings as a team to discuss the day and how we can improve, worship, Bible studies, DANCING (especially in East Africa), encouraging students, table fellowship over meals, learning life lessons, and growing into my identity as God’s kid.

All of these activities help create a sense of unity within our team which is necessary for us to function well while on mission. These activities also encourage me to engage with the spirit and that is what my response should be when my flesh is weak. These activities help me to live our life the way Jesus modeled to all of us.
