Behind Us and Before Us

Hello all,

We are in a unique moment in time for internship currently… sitting in a laundromat. More importantly, a time of transitioning in between serving in El Salvador and traveling into East Africa sometime soon. Our time traveling gave me time to reflect on a lot, but particularly I consider how we are influenced by location changes. Going into El Salvador was a difficult process for many of us, particularly those who were on the El Sal trip in 2021, when we lost a beloved member of the ministry, Robert Munoz.

For so many of us, returning to a country largely characterized by the pain of loss and death was something we immediately recognized we would have to grapple with. That was expressed in various times, through the hard questions about why bad things can happen to God’s people, through tears or anger. However, leaving El Salvador we saw the growth and healing that happened among us and in the people we served.

I won’t speak for all us of us, but for me I’m carrying forward my hope; carrying forward the light and the love that we have seen from God. I’m leaving behind the sorrow, the pain, the fear that used to cling to us. As we move into the next chapter of internship I’m preparing to see the Lord move in ways I won’t expect, ways that exceed our expectations.

We don’t look any longer to what lay behind us, instead looking forward to the promise that has been set before us. The power found in Jesus, that defies death and brings about miraculous healing and restoration. Pray for us interns as we continue to move by the spirit in confidence that God will support us.

God bless you,
Tyler Worlow
