Reflecting on Service

Hello family! I’ve been in Uganda for over a week now and we just finished our first SLAM week and are now heading out of a church visit in Eastern Uganda. It’s been such a great experience to meet all of the East African G.O.D cooperatives and their families.

I FINALLY got to meet my close friends Victor Lubega and Favour Kimbugwe, of whom have been my online classmates for 5 years in Junior High and High School. Over that time we have communicated through iPad emails about our overbearing excitement to get to meet each other in person. I really loved to get to see the campus they all lived on, as it reminded me of my own neighborhood. What was even more impactful was their relationships with each other, they reflected the same kind of familial love that the church community I’ve grown up with has.

I was so grateful and joyful to see how beautiful the campus my friends have the blessing to live on. It’s been impactful to consider how the work of my parents and close aunts and uncles have been apart of building up this incredible community for the Lord the last few decades.

I expressed to some friends on July 4th how getting to be apart of my parents work has made me feel closer than ever to them. Being abroad has made sense of all the hard work they’ve put in for the advancement of God’s kingdom even up into my father’s last moments. I now can confidently articulate why I love God and am going to give my life to his children here on earth. He’s showing me how much more they need Him then I do, but at the same time has so much love for me to give me the opportunity to give my life in service to them.
I love you all!!
