I have been able to witness and be a part of art performances and entertainment in the last week. For SLAM, students living a mission, a bible service camp, I have been a part of putting together and preforming an entertaining fun performance that communicates a message from God’s word. Allowing the kids to have fun and even understand that when serving God we can have fun with one another and feel free to express a knowledge of the word of God. We are able to show them that we can be ourselves and talk about our values as God’s kids, and communicate them through acting, dancing, and singing.
I believe that this will be a huge part of what we do in El Salvador, Kenya and Uganda. Acting and dancing is something that is universal, and being able to convey a message through it will be what we will need to drive home a biblical message. it is especially helpful when dealing with a language barrier. I am so excited that I can use the gift God has given me in this way when we go.
