I had the blessing of being able to go to a place called “College Cove”. This is a beautifully built house that allows young kids to come and stay the day—like an extended day camp. I had a long conversation with a young girl (11) who shared a lot about her life and the things she’s been through. It truly hurt to hear this young girl say the things she did and then look you in the face say “you listened to me that whole time and never left. Thank you.” Then join a game of tag and have such a childlike faith is powerful and a product of the lords protection over her heart. I know that as we travel this summer we will meet and talk to many young people who have lived unimaginably difficult lives and being able to sit, listen and respond with the word of god is crucial to their confidence. I’m thankful I can continue to learn how to respond in a way that ignites passion and helps aid in the development of their confidence—it’s a challenging thing to navigate but so worth learning how to do.
