Day 4: SLAM in Action!

Being an Intern for SLAM Nashville has been a completely different, new, and exciting experience. It still feels weird not being a SLAM kid, but growing into this new role has been wonderful and amazing, and I’m enjoying every moment of it. This week so far, has been very impactful, and I’ve pushed myself outside of my comfort zone in many ways. Max and I have been service project buddies all week, and have become and inseparable duo as Mrs. Kagay coined us to be. At our service projects Max and I were put with a Church group from Indiana, Six Points Church. The group consisted of all Middle school girls and this scared Max and I. We thought we would have a not enjoyable time because we didn’t feel the group would be fun. We were very wrong. We took time to invest into fun and impactful relationships with the girls, learning their names, their stories, what they like and don’t like, etc. We spent a lot of time laughing, talking about the sermons, serving and fellowshipping together. Today, their leader came up to me and thanked me for how I’ve been able to impact them, and how much the girls have loved the connection me and Max have been able to make with them. He said that not only have we had fun with them, but we’ve been good Godly examples for them. This excites me because it is part of the work of being called as a royal priesthood, and this very thing i get to do here, is what I will get to do abroad! This is just the beginning, and I cant wait for more!
