This week… I am getting A LOT of responsibilities with speaking in front of groups of people. With 140+ SLAM youth on top of our 50+ leaders… It gets pretty intimidating when you are in charge of being the MC, giving an exhortation or leading a time of instruction. But, I asked for this. I prayed that the Lord would develop my ability to articulate God’s word in a public venue. And look at how God has already been doing that. Yesterday morning I had the privilege of speaking for our morning session. I spoke from deep within my heart… Philippians 2. I exhorted the group of youth and challenged them to accept this mindset Jesus models: Your life being a benefit to others; not the other way around. I thought I didn’t do that well at first… but afterwards I had so many students and leaders come up to me and thank me for the words they received. I felt my faith being lifted up, because they really felt like the Lord spoke to them through my message. God does that. All I spoke was about the impact service has on others, and they were touched. This helped prep me for abroad by dreaming about the moments I will get to speak to youth around the world. And how much all of these youth need to hear the same message our youth are learning this week. God is good. He is growing all of us , so much!
