It’s Kenya time! This week our team has traveled over several days to be in Kenya today. We made several awesome stops at churches along the way. There was one stop at a church in Kamuli Uganda where we were able to facilitate a church service for the community. We had a message, praise and worship, hosted a lunch, participated in a soccer game, and even ran a small VBS time. One key memory from our time in Kamuli was upon arrival. Right when we showed up to the church, the members were singing praise songs and dancing for us despite it being so late in the night. This blessed me so much because the church members had the biggest smiles and were praising and dancing with all their hearts. Their Joy was so contagious it brought me to tears.
As mentioned above, one thing that our team has been doing at each church stop is performing songs and dances for the members. This has pushed many people on our team to get out of our comfort zones. We have learned to recognize that performing for these churches is a blessing for them. This trip is not about staying comfortable. This trip is not about ourselves. This trip is about service to one another. So performing different dances and songs, even in different languages at times has pushed us to grow. Which is a blessing in and of itself.
