Reflecting on My Faith and Role within the Body

I’m in Uganda! It is so good to be back since last year was such an amazing and faith-shaping trip. I am happy God is continuing to do the work he has started in me the last internship. One, I just want to express my joy and gratitude I feel when praising and worshiping with Ugandan people They truly live out worshipping God in spirit and in truth. Every time of worship people give their entire energy to dancing for God.

When it comes to worship songs (slower songs distinguish form the fast paced praise songs), people are so quick to cry out for God and fully give themselves to prayer. I have not had a time where I feel far from God but because of the lights and life around me in my Ugandan brothers and sisters is evident and infectious. I love to dance and I love singing, because it is a way we can like one body even across ethnicity, language, and culture.

Two, I am continuing to find my identity in the body of Christ as I grow close to God and say yes to him. God has been impacting my heart for public health throughout El Salvador and now. Also I have been growing in my administrative and assistant role and this has been a gift to me from the Lord. I have been able to utilize this gift as an Internship Trainee, assisting our leaders and filling in the gaps during SLAM weeks.

Even though I still have a far way to go in my capacity to serve the Lord, I had a conversation with Mr. Garner the first few days while in Entebbe (a city lake town near the airport) about social work and social change. Even though social work and being In the spotlight of service is rewarding, the recognition it gets it is different than making a social change. I want to be someone who makes a social change; someone who goes and works behind the scenes, maybe in not the most rewarding or easy position, but one that impacts many people along the line. I have felt God call me to be a servant leader in this way, to humble myself to this point. I hope I continue to do good work that will bring God will onto earth as it is in heaven.

Three, I just wanted to say I love the Ugandan youth that we served in SLAM this week. These student were hungry for the word of God and his spirit. They were intelligent and such precious people. I was so excited to see students that I met last year.
