Sometimes your work isn’t visible or praised. What does it feel like to grow in areas that others don’t see? What do you think God sees?
A lot of the work I have done has not been in front of people. During this Uganda SLAM week I have done a lot things that are preparing for the next event the kids participate in. For example we put on a concert with some East African artists and Justice (a fellow Intern). Before the concert me, Brooke, Lydia, and Emily had to sweep water off of the stage. This took a lot of time and there was a lot of water. Instead of looking for validation from others that I did a good work, I was content that God saw the work I did so the SLAM students could have a good experience.
I later realized that I wasn’t alone in doing work behind the scenes. All of the interns were doing work behind the scenes even thought we may not have seen all the work we each did we got to see the fruit of that work in the experiences we gave that SLAM students. God saw the work that each of us put in and that should be enough because when we are motivated by pleasing God and not man, the overall success of our mission is completed.
When everyone wants to be validated by the people around them they won’t do the work needed of them. This person becomes selfish seeing glory for themselves ass something to be attained a posed to wanting to complete God’s good work that is for people not one person. This is why God’s validation should be enough and what motivates us.
