The words that have been on my mind this mission are, “God’s word is lamp to your feet and light to your path!” We have done many things throughout our trip so far, SLAM, bootcamp, Morristown, and El Sal now. During these times of service this verse has been going through my head. Everything we do is informed by the word of God. When we have a lesson, when we run camps, when we serve the people, the bible studies we have been doing are informing how we serve.
After our long days of service, we are allowing God’s word to be our rest. Having times of Bible studies gives us a different kind of rest; a rest that allows us to wake up the next day and call on God for strength – to think and pray about what we have been learning. Through prayers, calling upon the lord, and the building up of Gods word in my heart, God is helping me to find my strength in him. In those moments where I feel exhausted remember the life bible studies give and how important it is to learn God’s word. God’s word is the lamp to our feet and light to our path. We are learning to live by God’s word, be a disciple, and live how jesus lived.
