The Church is Alive

It’s good to be back! Being reunited with friends, ministry partners, and fellow students here in the Philippines has been an absolute joy. Their love for the Lord and faithful service is truly contagious. I feel incredibly blessed to partner with them and to learn from their example this summer. We are unified by a shared desire to study the Word and live it out.

Today, I had the opportunity to experience Community Church for GOD: Philippines, and it was such an encouraging time! Our gathering was filled with heartfelt praise, moving testimonies, Scripture, and a meal shared around a welcoming table. The practices that make up the Church Community for GOD are deeply rooted in Scripture, which allows them to transcend both culture and language.

Clark and Rina Miller, our ministry partners here, are incredible leaders. They model what it means to walk in faith, and the community they’ve helped cultivate is a powerful testament to their obedience and commitment to the Lord. God’s presence is so clearly alive here, as seen in the testimonies shared, the Word proclaimed, and the unity felt as we worshiped and dined together.

One of the most powerful moments came when Mayjoy shared her testimony of healing—both in mind and body. She spoke honestly about a kind of healing that couldn’t be found through doctors or therapists alone. Instead, she testified to the power of a Christ-centered community, grounded in the Word of God, as being the true source of her transformation.

Though she admitted she is still in the process of healing, she confidently declared—through tears in her eyes—“With God and the help of these people, I am already healed.” Her words beautifully captured the spirit of what God is doing here: restoring lives through His Word and through the love of His people.

This is a place where renewal, healing, and hope are springing up, all rooted in the truth of Scripture. I’m beyond thankful to witness and be part of God’s kingdom coming to earth. When we gather in Jesus’ name, across cultures and languages, the Church is alive, and God is at work.
