Students Living A Mission!

I learned that ministry involved with youth takes special communication skills. You want to articulate clearly, but communicate in way that youth students understand and feel empowered by. During this SLAM week when talking with some of the students, especially during service projects, I had to evaluate and sometimes shift the way I was speaking to the students. I had to make sure I wasn’t just giving out rules, and reading off a piece of paper. I had to communicate in a way that got these kids excited and prepared to serve others. I had to communicate in a way that built them up and helped them feel empowered and impassioned by the word of God. That was a humbling but helpful thing I learned this week.
