SLAM

SLAM in Africa was a great time. Getting to meet all of the kids was such a great experience. SLAM was a powerful time, worship, dancing, and the word all coming together made it so good.

Something I took away was the conversations I had with some of the kids. One kid I talked to, his name was Asantiano, and he was 19 years old. We had a great conversation about school and what he wants to do when he’s older. He told me he doesn’t really know yet, but he has a few ideas. But he told me it costs him 11,000 shillings to pay for 1 semester of school. He told me it takes him 3 months to pay for it.

That was something that stood out to me because back home 1 hour of a shift from work will pay for 2 semesters here and it takes him 3 months. This was something that really showed me how hard it can be to live over here and still try to get education
