At this point in the trip I believe we are nearing the end, but there is a lot of work to do. We just completed SLAM Uganda and it was amazing. I’ve been feeling a conviction over the course of this trip to develop in myself a deeper understanding of the word of God. A theme of this trip for me has been related to the spirit or as called in Hebrew “Ruach.”
The spirit of God has to do with the word that he gave us and to better discern the Lord’s spirit, we need to know more of the word. God has been speaking through me this trip to impact others. Just today at the last day of SLAM Uganda a new friend of mine Tendo Samuel testified that the guidance and direction that I gave him in our discussion groups was very valuable to him. I’m so glad God was able to speak through me to him and use me in that way.
I’ve reached the point in the trip where I am having to fight my flesh harder than I’ve had to up to this point. We’ve been scaling up our capacity this entire trip and now we are being trusted with more responsibility. It is definitely hard to deny my flesh and stay fully present right now as I travel through Kenya, but I’m praying and reminding myself of the people i’m serving. I am learning so much about myself and I am learning how to see the world through a different lens. There are moments that feel very heavy, but there is also a lot of joy within our team. I am thoroughly enjoying this trip and I’ve grown a lot from it, so continue to pray for our team and the people that we are serving.
