Hey Y’all,
It is the second day of Summer Internship!!! Today I have been reflecting on this trip in comparison to some of the other trips that I have been on. Growing up, we traveled a lot as a family and I have been all over the place. But this trip really feels different. We are serving with SLAM this week in Nashville and I have been thinking a lot about some of the trips I have been on and how they have been focused on comfort and entertainment rather than service. On a school trip or even a camp trip the way that I would prepare was simply packing and showing up.
When I was preparing for this trip though, there was so much spiritual discipline, time in the Word, time in prayer, and times of learning that were a part of the time leading up to this trip. Even this boot camp is a time of spiritual discipline and learning because this is going to be a completely different experience. We are going on this trip because we feel called to serve the Lord and serve His people.
I know that this time is going to be trying of my flesh, but I know that when you serve the Lord you have to sacrifice a lot. He never told us that the way would be easy. We are supposed to take up our cross and follow him daily. And that is what this trip is going to be. I am praying that through this time of boot camp I will feel more equipped to serve in other regions this summer because I will learn to find humility and a willingness to serve in both the little things and the big.
I love you all and I am so grateful for your prayers,
Anthem
