We recently went on an unexpected Morristown weekend excursion. Saturday morning we arrived at the property, got into the busses, and took off to Morristown. When we arrived in Morristown we split into two groups. One group went to do a VBS kids camp, and the other went to hangout with the students from Hope and Thrive Academy. I got the privilege of hanging out with the students from Hope and Thrive, and when I tell you it was so much fun, I mean it! We had a blast, worshipping, hanging out, eating ice cream, playing games together, and more. It was an amazing time.
The next morning we went to the Church Community for GOD Morristown Sunday church service, and this was incredible. We had an amazing time of worship and got to fellowship over a meal. It was a really meaningful experience. One of the biggest lessons I learned from this short weekend was about how empowerment takes place. Empowerment isn’t only about teaching someone something, but the process is for them to feel confident in the knowledge to the point they are like the teacher. There is more to this lesson, but it was my favorite one over the weekend. Jesus is amazing!
