When we got to Morristown we all got split up for service projects. The service projects were Hope and Thrive Academy, VBS, and a construction project. I ended up getting put on the construction project which I was a little discouraged about, not because I didn’t like manual labor, but because I felt like I could make more of an impact serving and connecting with people at the VBS or at Hope and Thrive.
While I was there serving I talked a lot to a staff member, Rylan Aaseby, and something he said to me while telling a story about his internship was that “God can use you wherever you are.” This was a small moment, but it helped me to check myself, fix my selfish mindset, and change for the future.
