Summer internship is more than a school trip. This is an opportunity to live out the call that God has put on my life to serve the people he cares deeply for- the poor, the orphan, the widow, and the foreigner. Boot camp is calling me to show up differently in how I serve, think, speak, and act because it is all in obedience to the Lord.
This week is exciting because of knowing how SLAM changes young peoples lives. I learned about the Institute and SI through SLAM as a teenage girl. Now God has brought me here to partner with him to invest into the youth as I was invested into years ago. It is so full circle. I am learning that God uses our experiences throughout life to bless others in the future. I have been learning God’s word for three years now and have had multiple experiences being on the side of facilitating parts of SLAM.
With this, I now have the responsibility to serve and share with the people around me. I want to grow this week, be confident, and ultimately learn as much as I can to be able to be a blessing and asset for the rest of this summer. I have been called to seek holiness- to be set apart. How I approach everything, how I speak, and how I respond should be modeled after Jesus. This week is the kick start to an amazing summer of service and I am very honored to be a part of it.
