We have begun our Summer Internship adventure with Boot Camp, a preparatory time for the ensuing travels. So far, we’ve planned the different teams performing for this weeks SLAM, which is kinda like a VBS. Essentially, we’re coordinating a buncha games, service projects, and Bible studies for the multitudes of students coming to SLAM.
Already there’s a clear distinction between a school trip and what we’re doing right now. Students going on a school trip merely get to experience the novelty of travel, whereas we’ll get to do all that jazz AND MORE!
Serving Jesus means serving others. Jesus said so himself.
Boot Camp had clear emphasis on that service aspect. SLAM isn’t for us, although we will certainly benefit from it. SLAM is for these younger students coming in, hungry for the education that comes from the Word of God.
The difference between preparing for a school trip and preparing to serve Jesus is who we perform for. Ourselves, or others.
Thanks for reading! I love you
