Am so humbled to be part of this amazing people who are truly loving to me and to the people of East africa. Of course i was excited coming to the summer internship for the year 2025. This year was different compared to last year indeed on looking back this was a special year for me compared to last year. Because i never thought that this could happen indeed this was so special.
It all started at Green Valley when Mr. Garner said in Ephesian 2. “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.”
This taught me that it’s my responsibility to make sure that we are one through removing the laws that govern our hearts that may bring limitations in my life and the people that around me. This was was really good to me. I learned to associate with one another and remove any kind of law that was governing my life that would limit me from associating or doing God’s work.
The slam week the way they made us sleep [in sleeping bags] showed me that am not a tourist. I never came to tour but pick up a responsibility of being a laborer to others and a responsibility of leadership. I liked the fact that we were cooperative in every thing i told them. Where Mr. Garner said we should be able renew our minds and know that we are chosen. When i thought of it, indeed I am chosen because why is it that other people are not here and continued to position me to be laborer? All of this that has happened during this summer, it has positioned me more to be a laborer. I liked the statement Mr. Garner said that “you can take away all things but leave him with the word.” I found this interesting and so eager also to know the word like him because i felt like he had something that no one would ever take away from him. My prayer is to know God’s Word like never before, to own it and to develop an understanding and confidence in the word of God like Mr. Garner.
