My experience serving as an Intern at SLAM taught me so much. I participated in SLAM as a student for many years and not once has the Lord not moved during those weeks. A theme that arose from student’s testimonies the last day was that they had faith in God to sustain those they served this week. This theme shows how these students allowed God to open their eyes to the hard realities that one week of service won’t solve every problem in this world. But, a lot of us Interns and Mr Garner through his sermons were able to encourage these students that the service they provided planted seeds, and through their prayers they can sustain those who they served. Hearing all the testimonies on this theme was so encouraging and powerful, filling all of us Interns with excitement to bring this ministry abroad.
