Questions and Convos

Our recent trip to Kamuli was, once again, a meaningful one. There’s something about being in that place with the people, the conversations, and the quiet moments that always leaves me thinking deeply. This time, it wasn’t just about the work we did or the moments we shared as a team, but also about the questions that came to the surface.

One thing I’ve come to appreciate is how every Bible study session tends to stir something within me. It’s never just about going through the verses; there’s usually at least one or two questions that linger long after the session ends. And I’ve come to see that as a good thing a sign that I’m growing, wrestling and reflecting.

On this trip, some of those questions came from the people I interacted with in Kamuli, and others from members of our incredible team. But one question has really stuck with me: What does it actually mean to pray? Or, more specifically, whenever someone talks about prayer during preaching what exactly are they referring to?

It’s such a common word in the Christian faith, but when you stop and think about it, it’s also incredibly deep. Is it about words, silence, posture, attitude bv or something else entirely?

I’ll be honest: I don’t have the answer yet. But I’m confident that in time, the answer will come. Maybe in a conversation, maybe in scripture, maybe in a quiet moment when I least expect it.

For now, I’m learning to sit with the question and maybe that’s a form of prayer too.
