While I am not certain we can ever be totally prepared for what is ahead, I do know preparing to serve Jesus requires knowing Him intimately by understanding his word. Jesus modeled this well for us and even when he was met with opposition or trials, he responded with the word of God knowing that it does not return void.
I do feel Book Camp requires a deeper understanding that comes with education in God’s word, but also the perseverance and resilience to draw from that education when faced with challenges when the going gets tough. In essence, its being prepared biblically and tenaciously to give our all when we feel our tank is full or when our tank is drained. I suppose some might think this is different than preparing for other things in life, but we are told to write the word of God on our hearts so we might be prepared. It’s not just a preparation for a one time event. It’s life preparation and we need to show up this way everyday.
