NuNation – SLAM the BEST camp EVER!

Being a leader requires service. It requires making a plan and then being okay if the plan changes, which it more than likely will. Through my time helping with the service projects the SLAM youth were doing this week, I was heavily impacted by their hearts and sensitivity to life. The kids we were serving were underprivileged. They were either refugees or immigrants and could either speak up to 5 languages by the age of 6, or still speak 5 languages and not english. So, with that in mind, just think about 15 junior high students deciding to give their week away to go and serve the poor. They are ready and are hungry for Gods word. I learned through this week that young students just want to be near to God. They want to hear from the Lord, to experience his presence and be moved by his spirit. They want to be God’s hands and feet to the kids who need God the most. I learned that these kids are our hope. They are the next generation and it is my responsibility to help build them up into being God fearing kids who just want to make God proud.
