Dear Reader,
There’s a level of difference in responsibility that defines what we’re doing on a trip like this. It isn’t about getting our feet wet anymore. School trips, which are great introductory moments for service like this, served their purpose. This is a different context, we’re preparing for dedicated service, that impacts lives near and far, touches people’s moments, creates lasting impressions on people of God who we serve.
No longer are we just kids, we’re moving past the stage of learning and moving into action. We’ve been called into a glorious purpose; one recognized by the prophets, Jesus, the apostles, and those who have moved in faith through the world. We’re willing, ready to serve, here by choice, and filled with hope and promise straight from the Word.
We must also move in faith, ready to step with purpose into each and every moment we’ve been called to. We must be ready at all times, to move, to act, and to speak in faith. We walk into each moment ready to be tested, and above all else, obedient to the call. We can’t show up to boot camp unwilling, combative, unaware, we’re called above that, to be like Jesus as we were created in the image of God who he images.
This isn’t preparing for a school trip; it’s preparing to serve for life.
Keep us in your prayers.
In Christ,
Tyler Worlow
