We are on day 2 of boot camp. Our first day consisted of registration, church/brunch, SLAM prep, Bible study and staying in host homes. Today we are starting off our day by blogging. We have the chance to reflect on the difference between preparing for a regular school trip and preparing to serve Jesus. When I think of preparing to serve Jesus this summer, I know there is work that I want to put in so that I can serve in a way that glorifies the Lord.
To prepare for this trip specifically we had times of prayer, lifting up our mission and praying for our cooperatives abroad. Preparing to serve the lord this summer, will involve serving his people, one thing we have learned at the institute is that we have to let the word inform how we serve. That is something I am carrying with me through this trip. These times of worship and Bible study will allow me to have to capacity to serve. To know more about God character and his love for us. Boot camp has allowed me to have so many valuable conversation with people through preparation and small breaks. I am going into this trip with an intentional heart ready to serve and I’m so excited for the rest of the ways I am going to be able to serve this summer, and the ways boot camp is preparing me for that.
