DAY 2 OF SUMMER INTERNSHIP!

It’s day two of this mission trip and I am already having the time of my life! Preparing for this trip has been unlike any other trip. Summer Internship has required a lot of prayer, time in the word, and question asking leading up to the trip. With it being only day two of a forty-eight day mission, I can already see fruit of that preparatory work. We have been preparing to run a SLAM week here on campus, and if each intern hadn’t been spending time in prayer and with each other, our team spirit would not be what it is at the moment. I believe that our team dynamic will still continue to grow as SLAM and this mission progresses.

Boot Camp is calling me to show up differently in the way I approach challenges. When situations or circumstances get difficult, it is tempting to want to shut down. In this context that is not an option. Each person has a role and responsibility on this team. For anyone to shut down in these challenging moments would be devastating not only to our team, but to the people were serving. Boot Camp (even just on day two) has encouraged me to embrace the hard times, lean on the Lord, ask for help, say yes, and to not shy away from my responsibilities. Rather, embrace these challenges and opportunities of growth.
