A few days ago, our group wrapped up our time of facilitating a SLAM camp in Mombasa, Kenya. While traveling back to Uganda through Kenya, we stopped at Uyawi Town. This is where our friend, Pastor Florencio’s church is. This church is a part of the Church Community 4 God network which is just so awesome and a great blessing!
I met Pastor Florencio last summer while on SI 2024. He became a quick friend and I noted his servant heart and humble attitude. He was constantly checking in on me, asking how he could help me, and sharing God’s word with everyone around.
He was also serving again this summer internship helping with from organizing, facilitating, praying, to lifting luggage on top of our buses. When we visited his church, he shared his testimony, introduced his family, and showed us his church building.
As we walked up, I saw a tin building with a hand painted sign that read “Global Outreach Developments present Church Community for GOD”. Pastor Florencio took us inside and we all prayed for God to bless him, his family, and the church community in Uyawi.
Pastor Florencio taught me about what true humility looks like and how developing our faith requires total reliance on the Lord. I hope to be able to be sensitive to the Lord’s voice like him one day.
