When I set eyes on the school I was to serve, it was magical because the kids were so welcoming and happy to see us. They gave each and everyone of us hugs and started sing in joy. At this point all I could to was return the love by smiling and singing along with them.
The thing is that I had been walking past this school during some of Sunday walks and every time I would observe it and think “How do these kids get education in this type of school and do they get any visitors or support at all?” I got to learn that this was not the case and they testified that we were there first visitors. I could see the happiest on their faces and every time they sang or did an activity with us,they were sincerely participating and they were enjoying.
At this point, I felt the joy in my heart seeing these kids having fun and learning something from us. We did more serving by cleaning up the school, clearing path ways and providing a trash pit for the school. During all this I could see the Lord working in the teachers because during our time serving, this teachers kept on God who brought us to their school and I could she she loves God which was the reason she started the school in the first place. So I had this wonderful opportunity to visit the school twice and I got to teach them some lessons in the Bible that was fun and engaging for them.
The lesson included how good it is to serve those in need with all we can do for them, we do not have to have much to do so. The lesson was the story of Abraham, Sara and the three strangers that can with the promise. Teaching kids is one the things that brings me joy and what I wanna do in future and getting to serve them at the school was an opportunity I needed. And also getting to serve with people that love God serving people that love and depend on God. This experience made me put in practice what Jesus did which is to serve those in need. Now my goal is to try and be like Jesus so I will continue serving and learning from Him.
