SLAM Uganda Testimonies

This is my first time being on the side of SLAM that is organizing and running the whole program. I am a SLAM kid and grew up going every summer since I was able. Getting to facilitate the experience that has had such a crucial role in developing my faith has been opening my eyes to Gods mission. The highlight of all these SLAM weeks for me has been getting to listen to the testimony time. Here in Uganda it was really beautiful hearing students say confidently that they are chosen. You could tell that the students eyes were opening to their own culture as well as our American culture but then able to say that we are all family with God as our father. Every single SLAM student that I hugged goodbye said they were so excited to see us next year.

Leading up to the testimonies I also got to help lead focus group discussions. The group of young women I got to discuss with were very engaged, they had great things to say and good questions we got to all have conversation about. During these times it was evident that the service they were doing was being influenced by the sermons. The sermons were inspiring them to have confidence as they did Gods work and it was precious to see.
