Describe the dynamics within your team. How have your relationships with fellow interns and facilitators evolved?

Being on this team I have had to change how I view my dynamics with others. I am on this trip with a lot of my close friends, It’s been important to not take old dynamics and apply them to this context. There are clear divisions in status between us, some of us are Recruits and others are Trainees. Trainees are given their position because they have gone on internship before, because of their past experience they are more attuned to what needs to get done and how to do it. Recruits are those of us who have not gone on internship before and are learning the roles that play into completing the many different services on this mission.

As Recruits it is important that we listen to Trainees and do what they need of us. From my experience I have gotten closer with my friends who are Trainees and our dynamics has become like a younger and older sibling relationship. Like how an older sibling looks out for their younger sibling, protecting, and guiding them to do what is good. This is how I have viewed my relationships with the Trainees, I am very thankful for them, and because I have shown them the respect that their role requires, and focused on doing the service that is needed of me. I have experienced closer relationships that are built on doing God’s work.
